Class 56 commissioning

In 1977 the class 56 locos undertook acceptance trials, the circuit starting from Tinsley, where the test car was kept collecting BBA's from Rotherham and doing a Doncaster-ECML (Peterborough West Yard probably) - Doncaster circuit.

As part of the test train a MetCam  Pullman car was used during the early commissioning runs but it wasn't the vehicle that eventually became Lab 14. Bit of a mystery

The commissioning of the early Rumanian locomotives was based at Tinsley, Sheffield

The Class 56 formal acceptance tests were carried out later using the DM&EE's Test Car 6
