Diesel Hydraulic locos

A class 42 'Warship' loco and two class 35  'Hymek' diesel hydraulic locomotives were acquired by R&DD as rolling load locomotives for use at Old Dalby

D832, D7076 and D7096 were usually based at Old Dalby but eventually ended up at Mickleover

Two of the three were preserved

Not long after its arrival D832 'Onslaught' is pictured in the RTC yard on 21st March 1972 D832 at Crewe open day on 10th September 2005
On 19th July 1977 the two Hymeks from Old Dalby (D7076 and D7096) are pictured at Egginton Jcn sidings in the company of the former Research Division Clayton locomotive D8598. D7076 is now preserved and based on the East Lancs Railway.

On 11th April 1976 one of the Hymeks (D7076)  formerly used at Old Dalby sits on the headshunt siding at Mickleover station in the company of the Clayton.
