Mobile loadbank locomotive ADB 968021

The locomotive formerly 84009 was acquired by R&DD in July 1978 and converted into a loadbank locomotive. It was renumbered ADB968021 and was used to test feeder and substations during commissioning of overhead electrification projects by applying a controlled load to the overhead wires

The loco was scrapped at Gwent Demolition, Margam in December 1995 but a cab is preserved at Barrow Hill.
