|The Bulletin concerned the 'performance and efficiency
testing' of a LM Region Class 4, 2-cylinder 2-6-0 Mixed Traffic
Locomotive number 43094. This loco had been designed by the LMS but built
by BR and had a single chimney unlike the earlier designs.
The tests were undertaken to establish the following:
Testing was undertaken on the static test plant at Swindon and on the line between Challow and Stoke Gifford (Bristol Parkway), a distance of approx 50 miles.
